About Me

I believe that specialization allows a lawyer to offer the best possible service to his or her clients.  I carry on a general corporate commercial practice, with a particular emphasis on franchise law, trade-marks and copyright.

I graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a combined honours degree in Political Science and Philosophy.  After completing my law degree at the University of Windsor in 1999, I articled at a large Bay Street firm in Toronto.   After completing a secondment at one of the premier intellectual property law firms in Canada, I returned to my hometown of London, Ontario to take a job at the largest law firm in the city.

After working in my chosen area of the law at two large, full-service firms, I have come to realize that I prefer focusing only on my work and my clients, and not on the politics that come with working in a huge law firm. I have no need to over-bill my clients to hit artificial targets; instead, I strive only to provide top-quality work at reasonable rates.

Before practicing law, I had a varied and interesting work history.  I began a successful retail business while still in high school, that I sold upon my move to Toronto.   I have also been an instructor for Kaplan for students wishing to write the Law School Aptitude Test, a graphic artist, and a movie reviewer for the London Free Press.

I am also a member of the Board of Directors of the London Chamber of Commerce and an active supporter of the London Ringette Association. I coach my fiancee's team and am a proud glass-banger for my family's hockey and ringette games!
